Lupi loves her raw meat dietWe have provided this information as a thought-provoking informational resource for consideration as you thoroughly and responsibly research preparing home-made food for your domestic pet.

Always consult with your veterinarian when making a dramatic change in your pet's diet. The recipe, processes and information described on Mickey & Lupi's BARF Page have been formulated for the nutritional needs of Mickey and Lupi, our domestic felines who have special dietary needs, and may not be ideal for any given pet.  This recipe was not created by consulting a veterinary medical handbook. When formulating your own pet's diet, seek professional veterinary guidance, especially if your pet is unwell.

While the recommendations and recipes given in this text have been carefully formulated utilizing numerous resources, Paul and Paula Haberman can not be held responsible for any consequences resulting from any misuse of the recommendations and/or recipes mentioned in this text, nor can we be held responsible for any possible diverse reactions your pet may experience if you should follow the recommendations and recipe provided in this text.

Mickey gnaws on a chicken thighFinally, a reminder that Mickey became dangerously ill with a urinary tract blockage, known as FLUTD or FUS while we were using our original cat food recipe (which we obviously no longer use, and no longer present on Mickey & Lupi's BARF Page). While certain recipes work perfectly well for some pets, other pets may be predisposed to certain symptoms related to their diet, without us knowing it before it's too late.

If you do switch your pet's diet, always make note of any changes in his or her behavior, especially in the frequency, location, volume, consistency or odor of your pet's urine or feces.  A urinary tract blockage can kill your cat in a matter of hours if not attended to immediately by a veterinarian, and a dramatic change in bowel habits can indicate a serious problem.
